Firstly, this tips is only can be applied to the computer which only have one HDD on their primary IDE channel, which nothing else on device 0 or 1, and CD-ROM or DVD-ROM on the secondary IDE channel. Every time you boot your computer with Windows XP, there is an updated file called NTOSBOOT-*.pf. Structure of Windows XP Registry
When you will open the Windows XP Registry , you will see it’s divided into two panes. On the left side there are Five main Keys as shown below. These can be expanded to several Sub-Keys, which further has many Sub-Keys.
+HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
+HKEY_CURRENT_USER
+HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
+HKEY_USERS
+HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
Before you try out the Tweaks, learn how to Backup and Restore Windows XP Registry.
Before you spend a dime on security, there are many precautions you can take that will protect you against the most common threats.
1. Windows Update
Check Windows Update and Office Update regularly (_http://office.microsoft.com/productupdates); have your Office CD ready.
Windows Me, 2000, and XP users can configure automatic updates. Click on the Automatic Updates tab in the System control panel and choose the appropriate options.
2. Install a personal firewall
Both SyGate (_www.sygate.com) and ZoneAlarm (_www.zonelabs.com) offer free versions.
Anonymity of Proxy
As in my earlier post here and here, it’s the time to explain to you what is called proxy.
The exchange of information in Internet is made by the “client – server” model. A client sends a request (what files he needs) and a server sends a reply (required files).
For close cooperation (full understanding) between a client and a server the client sends additional information about itself: a version and a name of an operating system, configuration of a browser (including its name and version) etc.
This information can be necessary for the server in order to know which web-page should be given (open) to the client. There are different variants of web-pages for different configurations of browsers. However, as long as web-pages do not usually depend on browsers, it makes sense to hide this information from the web-server.
Hi Adbrite users in China,
As in my previous posts about sourceforge.net blocked in china and how to bypass it, this morning I found again blocked site on www.adbrite.com. Adbrite provides a nice feature in their advertisement for picture (Britepic), flv video (InVideo) as well as its link ads and etc.
Unfortunately I couldn’t open the website this morning, I thought it’s about maintenance of www.adbrite.com server but I was wrong. Even you can’t ping www.adbrite.com
Here is the result of my tracert, traceroute, tracepath in Linux
