Do you want to type Chinese characters on your Windows? You computer then can read Chinese characters after you do these settings. No need installation, Windows already provided for us. You can even type Chinese characters when you are chatting. For those who don’t know before. Give it go!!

How to Install Chinese Language and its bar

1. First of all, of course go to your Control Panel by click Start –> Control Panel and then find Regional and Language Options and double click that to open. What? You can’t find it? maybe your control panel view is different. Click Switch to Classic View on the left hand side, then you can find it very easy. Remember to not restart you computer before these steps are finish and before I told you to do so, otherwise wasting your time.

2. Go to Languages Tab and check “Install files for East Asian Languages” and then click Apply (remember, don’t restart your computer first, Select “NO” please..!!) . In this step, some Windows asking to insert your Windows Installation CD so just insert it and then click OK. But that I usually found on Cracked Windows, not Genuine one, Oopps… hehehe, how bout you???)

P.S. :

- If you dont’ have Windows CD, you can download the LANGUAGE package here –> http://rapidshare.com/files/126527608/lang.rar

- The language package above includes all languages available in Windows XP

- After finished download, extract it, and locate the extracted folder when you apply the following step screen shot.

3. Click Details on the language tab. Then Click Add.

4. Select the input language to Chinese (PRC) unless you want the Taiwanese one. Make sure the keyboard layout is the Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0. Finally click OK.

5. Go to Advanced Tab.Check the “Extend support of advanced text services to all programs”. This one will extend the support of the Chinese language to all programs, so that you can type Chinese characters in MSN, notepad, Yahoo Messenger, and etc. Finally Click apply (Don’t restart Please, Select “NO”).

6. This step is actually optionall and it is also up to your preferences. Click Preferences.language-bar-preferences.JPG

7. My recommends is “Check all of those”. Then click “OK”.

8. Here is another extra step that it is up to you. I set the default input languagee to the Chinese. Here is the screen shot. This should be the final one. Do you want to use it right away? Yeah? Ok, NOW you can “Restart” your computer now, Click OK and then select “Yes” when it prompts you to restart your computer.

Any questions you don’t understand? Leave your comments please. Why I set the default input language to Chinese one? Later one, How to use “How to use Chinese Language Bar on your Windows XP effectively.”. If you ask me to. :)

I tried to install the Chinese language bar in the above way, but simplified Chinese does not appear as an option in the “Add input language” dialog box (neither does traditional Chinese and Japanese). At another point I am asked to insert the XP professional service pack 2 CD, which I don’t have. Do you know what is wrong?

When you did miss it? On which step?
Did you download the language pack from the given rapidshare link above?
That language pack is from the original Windows XP CD, I pack it into rar file so that people no need Windows CD anymore.
